This was a gift for my friend Annika, on her birthday.

6am - Artista Eli - 2000

This painting is about opposites colliding. It is about the point where night turns into day and energy turns into fatigue. I did this painting 3 years, before I came to Spain, and before I even knew anything about the area that I am now living in. This is very strange, since the landscape looks very like the landscape looks very similar to the local landscape where I live now, where the mountains meet the sea and where the sun of the Mediterranean meets the cold air and rain of the mountains.

Luna Mora - Artista Eli - 2009

Luna Mora is a festival in the village of Guaro, in Andalusia, Spain. It takes place in yearly in September and is a celebration of the last full moon of summer. During Luna Mora the village is lit only with candles. This is how it is described by Wikipedia:

The festival program includes concerts of Andalusian music , Sephardic and Andalusian , and presentations of theater , exhibitions, workshops, tastings, belly dancing and souk Moorish crafts , all lit with just the moon and twenty thousand and one candles. Activities take place in Haima and in the streets of the old town of the people.

During the festival of ancient manuscripts rescued dishes cooking Andalusian , accompanied by the traditional Andalusian cuisine and music and belly dance. In addition, there are storytellers , telling the children the most popular stories of the Arab tradition of Nasrid kingdoms and cities east and parades are put into medieval customs of Muslim Andalusia

On The Beach - Artista Eli - 2004

Painting is about the beauty and power of nature. I finished this painting on Christmas Eve 2004, 2 days before the Tsunami in Thailand, which really touched me deeply, because of this painting which I had only just finished. It therefore has a deeply emotional significance for me.
